Cheryl Luckett wants to give her clients homes they never want to leave. Since 2012, Dwell by Cheryl Interiors has kept clients raving about Cheryl’s ability to transform their homes into classic, colorful, cultured spaces - not to mention her professionalism and attention to detail. Full of creative solutions to her clients’ design challenges, Cheryl and her team champion their projects from start to finish.
Like Cheryl’s southern roots, her love for design runs deep. Growing up in Mississippi, she soaked up her grandmother’s and great-great-grandmother’s keen interest in design (the latter even sold catalog home furnishings to friends and neighbors who admired her talent for putting together beautiful spaces!).
Cheryl first earned a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science at Tennessee State University (where she pledged the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.). She also learned the fundamentals of design there, unknowingly planting the seeds for her future career. She then completed her postgraduate studies at Prairie View A&M University, becoming a Registered Dietitian, a credential she still proudly maintains.
Cheryl later earned a Residential Interior Design diploma from Central Piedmont Community College to strengthen her knowledge of design, but not before first building a successful career in corporate America.
For over 15 years, Cheryl worked at a Fortune 500 company, initially as a Registered Dietitian and subsequently as a human resources professional in diversity and inclusion. Eventually, however, those seeds of creativity took root. They collided with her faith and she realized her true calling was in design. She hasn’t looked back since.
Along with designing for her clients, Cheryl also brings the classic style, colorful palettes, cultured details, and charming flair she’s known for to collaborations with major brands in the home furnishings and design industry. Her product designs feature everything from lamps to sofas with no end in sight. Cheryl also partners regularly with brands she adores, sharing their merits with her loyal following both on - and offline.
A self-proclaimed “extroverted homebody,” Cheryl loves hosting gatherings at her home with the people she holds dear. She also dreams of someday having a second home in the mountains to get away from it all whenever she wants.
